Sixth Form Entry Requirements

Study 3

Students applying to our Sixth Form will be expected to meet two conditions.  The first is academic and concerns performance at GCSE.  Each subject has individual entry requirements which you will find on the next page.

  • • 3 A Levels or equivalent require 5+ A*- C or 9-5 grades (or equivalent) including Maths and English. Some students may be selected to take 4 A Levels but this will be decided on an individual basis.
  • • Level 2 Foundation Courses requires 5 A* - D or 9-3 grades.

You should only apply to the course if you match all the ‘essential’ elements as laid out in this course person specification so please read this information carefully.

The final condition relates to behaviour and attitude to work.  Much is expected in the way of self-discipline, motivation and ambition.  Applicants must have demonstrated these qualities during their GCSE years to qualify for admission to our Sixth Form.  Once successful each member of the Sixth Form must sign and adhere to a contract covering all aspects of Sixth Form life, including: Attitude to learning, punctuality and attendance, dress code and meeting deadlines to name but a few. Any students found to be in breach of this contact will be sanctioned may lose the privilege of the four day week, or may ultimately be asked to leave.

Drama  Each student taking 3 A Levels will also be required to take up a weekly enrichment activity to support their studies. It will be either an EPQ or additional study skills. Some students may be directed to take study skills if it is deemed necessary.
