The school would like to pass congratulations to all students. The results reflect their hard work and the excellent support provided by the staff and parents. We wish all students good luck for the future and urge them to stay in touch.
We are delighted with our GCSE results this year. 54% of students achieved 5 A* - C including English and Mathematics. 59% of students achieved an A* - C in both English and Mathematics. As a result of the grades all Year 11 students went on to join our Sixth Form or progress to college, an apprenticeship, or employment.
GCSE one year option
Subjects in our unique one year option performed strongly again this year with many above national standards of performance. As a result of this 64% of Year 11 students already have two good GCSE passes and a further 20% have one good pass. In Year 10 64% of students have one good pass.
For the third year in a row the percentage of A* - B grades has increased and this year 39% of gades were A* - B. At A level the pass rate was 99%. As a result all Longdean School students have moved on to a university of their choice or gone onto employment or training.
